Hey, I’m Stacey, first and foremost mum to seven (yep, seven) crazy awesome kiddies under the age of twelve.

I have four dogs, three cats, two chickens and a snake (tell me you didn’t start singing the 12 days of Chistmas when reading that!).

I am the person that can’t sit still, a chronic people pleasing over-commiter, that rarely sleeps because I’m always brewing up a new crazy idea.

I am hopelessly neurotic (to my own detriment sometimes) about helping the underdog and paying it forward – and I will always fight for what’s right, no matter the cost.

I am a volunteer for many causes but have a soft spot for anything related to helping animals and the homeless.

I am an incredibly unfit blackbelt, the copper’s wife, and the foster mum that pours her heart into helping little people, whose voices quite often don’t get heard.

I am the shit friend who’s hopeless at returning txt’s and rarely answers her phone for personal conversations, but will always have her friends back by dropping off a meal, or babysitting kids, when times get tough.

I am either ‘mumming’ or ‘working’ most of the time, although on occasions I love a good BBQ, with a side of Metalica and Vodka – this, coincidentally, is also about the time I become a good singer 😉

I am petrified of public speaking, but am never afraid of speaking up, I’m the gal that loves a challenge, and won’t take shit from anyone.

I am tenaciously OCD, I love things neat and orderly, which, you would never know if you walked into my small, half-renovated, messy house.

I try and achieve work/life ‘balance’ every day, but in reality, I’m not Mary Freakin’ Poppins, and most days I manage to piss someone off for dropping the ball somewhere.

I live in a world of stress with my workload, but over the years I’ve managed to bring a form of organised chaos to my life that’s meant I can do everything I love, and still remain (relatively) sane.

I love cooking (and food in general), but in the midst of juggling family and business, I buy takeaway – more than I’d like to admit.

I love anything to do with wheels (did someone say 48 Chev Pickup?!?); V8’s, 4WD, racing, and riding motorbikes (not that I’m very good at it).

My favourite days involve exploring the outdoors, forgetting that I’m old and doing crazy shit with the kids, and searching for the best eating spots everywhere we go.

My main goal for the next five years is to travel Oz with hubby, kids, and dogs for a few months (permanently, if I had my way).

This is about the time you can decide for yourself if you want to keep reading or write me off as certifiably insane (I prefer to refer to myself as an over-achiever). 😉

When I’m not mumming, I’m a fellow business owner, financial sidekick, business consultant, and registered BAS Agent here at Save My Books.

I help small business owners understand their finances, and plan for success – without sacrificing their souls.

And I LOVE it!

Every day I get to work with the most inspirational business owners, people who are just like me, trying to build a dream in the demanding world of small business.

I do this through online training programs, done-for-you services, and one-on-one coaching programs, so you can grow your profitable lifestyle business and finally ditch the overwhelm!

Read on…

I started my first business eleven years ago, after ditching the bland corporate accounting world.

I had a mission to be different from the stereotypical boring bean counter. No confusing jargon here, just “human speak”

…with the occasional profanity thrown in (sorry not sorry).

Like a sidekick, but with awesome number-crunching powers – a financial sidekick, perhaps?

Just like many other small business owners, I thought I’d chase the dream of freedom, flexibility, and the awesomeness that comes with running your own small business (can you hear my sarcasm?!)

What I found instead was complete overwhelm. ☹

As my business grew, so did my workload, and I had no idea how to deal with any of it.

My business became needier than any baby I’ve ever encountered, and trust me I know needy babies- I deal with seven of them under the age of twelve. Every. Single. Day.

Anywho, back to my story.

I felt like I was in a rut. I didn’t feel as though I fell in the rut, I felt like I had built it around myself.

Perhaps the feeling of being “busy” had become my wall of safety and a way of telling myself that I was achieving.

So not true!

I was caught in a constant grind of doing mundane work tasks, managing my kids like they were my clients, managing my clients like they were my kids, and just chasing my tail every day.

This took a toll on every aspect of my life.

Marriage, kids, health, social life, clients– they all took a hit.

And I can tell you right now, the camping trips, day adventures, and car races became nothing but a distant memory of what the ‘old Stacey’ used to do.

Like she was a totally different person – one that no longer existed.

The ‘new Stacey’, belonged strapped to her desk, slogging away relentlessly working on her business.

*Now don’t get me wrong here, I think in any business, for anyone, there are seasons where ‘slogging it out’ is a necessary component to business growth, what I’ve learnt is that it shouldn’t be a permanent season*

So, feeling defeated, deflated and just plain shitty about this situation, I decided it was time for a change.

And that’s exactly what I’ve been doing over the past three years– finding the best solutions to streamline, refine, and make my business perform at a higher level.

I’ve learned the best systems for setting goals and identifying the tasks that are critical for me to smash those goals.

I’ve mastered forecasting, so instead of just managing my money, and robbing Peter to pay Paul each week, I’m now making money with intention.

By implementing better systems, I identified the parts of my business that needed a bit of love and eliminated the parts that were not actually creating any value.

Because that’s what we’re all aiming to do right? Eliminate tasks that take up too much of our time to make space for the tasks that we should be working on every day.

You know the tasks I’m talking about- the ones that actually drive your business forward and allow you to kick business butt consistently.

And now, I teach those systems to my clients, so they too can reap the rewards, and finally start getting a pay off for their hustle.

Every day, I see business owners who have so many awesome ideas and aspirations, but they struggle to implement them because they find it hard to break everything down into bite-size, actionable tasks.

Business owners who struggle with the number-crunching side of budgeting.

Business owners who don’t know the cost of their products and services, which is often where they can find areas to increase efficiency and profit.

Business owners who cringe at the thought of the paperwork shuffle, so they put it on the backburner, and never truly know how they’re travelling financially.

I want to help you guys because I think it’s time you start getting paid what you’re worth and your business starts working for you, instead of you being a slave to your business.

I’ve created my Free Small Business Strategy Calls as a result of talking to business owners like you!

Unfortunately, due to the personalised service that I like to offer all my clients, I can only offer a limited amount of these strategy calls every week– four, to be exact.
